Experimental observation of grazing-incidence X-ray back-diffraction with large angular dispersion

Calculated back-diffracted angle, $[{\theta _{\rm f}}]$ , as a function of surface miscut angle, $[{\theta _{\rm m}}]$ , for photon-energy offsets $[E - {E_0}]$ ranging from 0 to 4.5 meV. The corresponding incident angle $[{\theta _{\rm i0}}]$ at exact back-diffraction is also shown. The increasing separation of the curves as $[{\theta _{\rm m}}]$ approaches 90° illustrates the enhancement of the angular dispersion.
