Direct comparison of samples S1 and S4 in the SAXS-dominated region. Both samples exhibit the same 1W hydration state and comparable stacking characteristics, while differing in platelet morphology. The reduction of the mean platelet lateral size from L₀ = 110 Å (S1) to L₀ = 60 Å (S4) shifts the Guinier knee from q ≃ 0.20 Å⁻¹ to q ≃ 0.35 Å⁻¹ while leaving the position of the basal 001 reflection essentially unchanged. The comparison demonstrates that the principal difference between S1 and S4 is morphological rather than crystallographic.
