Comparison of experimental and simulated diffuse scattering on the twofold layer for i-ScZn7.33. (a) Diffuse scattering measured on the annealed i-ScZn7.33 sample. The diffraction data were collected at 300 K on ID23-1 at ESRF, using the Pilatus6M detector located at a distance of 200 mm from the sample. (b) Simulation of the same portion of reciprocal space. The simulation was carried out based on the elastic theory of iQC with the estimated elastic constants K1/kBT = 1.0 ×10-2 (Å3), K2/K1 = −0.53 and K3 = 0.
