An X-ray study of silver amalgam and its stoichiometry

The powder diffraction data and the cell constants of silver amalgam crystal (grown from N/50 AgNO₃ solution and a globule of mercury) are given. The formula AgHg for the compound is suggested on the basis of X-ray data and chemical analysis.
