The Pt atom of the title compound, [Pt(Cl₂(C₁₀H₁₆N₂O₈)].6H₂O, sits on a twofold axis and exhibits square-planar coordination geometry. Two Cl^- ions are bound to the Pt atom, as are the two N atoms of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. The distances and angles are typical.
