Photoluminescent Samarium Octamolybdate

The structure of a photoluminescent molybdosamarate, Sm₂(H₂O)₁₂[Mo₈O₂₇].6H₂O, is described. The Sm atom has tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry.
