In [Mo(C₁₀H₈NO)₂(O)₂], the metal coordination is octahedral. The oxo ligands are cis with respect to each other and trans with respect to the quinolinolato N donor atoms. The Mo—O_oxo distances are shorter than the Mo—O_{quinolinolato} bond lengths. One of the oxo ligands is involved in C-H

O hydrogen bonding.
