The piperidine ring in the title compound, C22H25NO3, adopts a distorted-boat conformation. Some conjugation of the lone pair of the N atom with the carbonyl group is observed. The two phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 88.9 (1) and 79.1 (1)° with the best plane through the piperidine ring.
