The structure of a platinum(II) com­plex containing (R)-(di­methyl­amino)­ethyl­napthyl and bis­(di­phenyl­phosphan­yl)methane mono­sulfide ligands, namely, {(R)-1-[1-(di­methyl­amino)­eth­yl]napthyl-κ2N,C2}[(di­phenyl­phos­phan­yl­meth­yl)di­phenyl­phosphine sulfide-κ2P,S]platinum(II) hexa­fluorido­anti­monate di­chloro­methane monosolvate, [Pt(C14H16N)(C25H22P2S)][SbF6]·CH2Cl2, was determined. The structural features are com­pared with analogous platinum bis­(di­phenyl­phosphan­yl)methane monoxide [dppm(O)] and bis­(di­phenyl­phosphan­yl)methane monoselenide [dppm(Se)] com­plexes in relation to their potential hemilability and stereochemical nonrigidity.

Special details top

Geometry. All e.s.d.'s (except the e.s.d. in the dihedral angle between two l.s. planes) are estimated using the full covariance matrix. The cell e.s.d.'s are taken into account individually in the estimation of e.s.d.'s in distances, angles and torsion angles; correlations between e.s.d.'s in cell parameters are only used when they are defined by crystal symmetry. An approximate (isotropic) treatment of cell e.s.d.'s is used for estimating e.s.d.'s involving l.s. planes.

Refinement. Large thermal parameters on fluorines indicate disorder. There are apparently two orientations of the SbF6 displaced around the F1—F6 axis. This was not a large enough displacement that it was modelled. Modelling of a disorder in a methylene chloride was problematic. Refinement without the methylene chloride, but using a solvent mask calculated that 160 electrons were found in a volume of 748 A3 in one void in the unit cell. This is consistent with the presence of one CH2Cl2 per formula unit which accounts for 168 electrons per unit cell.
