The minimum main gap allowed by the demagnetization of ferrite magnet material, with Br  =  0.37 T and Hcb  =  325 kA m−1. The upper curve is for the case of counterforce and main arrays of equal width, and the lower curve is for counterforce magnets twice as wide as the main magnets. Both curves assume magnets with square cross section.
