Basic components and layout of a proposed meV or sub-meV medium-energy IXS beamline. The mirrors are for two-dimensional (vertical and horizontal) focusing or collimation. An energy scan of 4B-HRM can be realised by two-axis angular scanning of weak-link crystals 1–2 and 3–4 along opposite directions.
