(c) Broken samples can also be aligned. The samples of (a) and (c) were measured in transmission mode, and that of (b) was measured in fluorescence mode. (d) The sample shape is incorrectly recognized because the sample is very dirty. (e) If there is a sample with a hole, the centre of gravity of the sample shape is in the hole area with no sample (not the real example).
