Success and failure of dead-time models as applied to hybrid pixel detectors in high-flux applications

to reveal the large linear range of the detector. Linearity to within approximately 2% is evident at short shaping times up to approximately 0.36 MHz pixel⁻¹. This becomes significantly non-linear at very high fluxes. However, the introduction of bunched fill substantially improves the linearity over this higher flux range.
