Evolution of the ratio of radius of gyration Rg of lysozyme at a given dose with respect to the initial value Rg0 (first frame), Rg/Rg0, with absorbed dose, in the presence of different additives. Samples of 7.2 mg ml−1 lysozyme were analysed in 40 mM sodium acetate, pH 3.8, 150 mM sodium chloride. Multiple frames of 0.035 s exposure time were recorded and added per point. Measurements were performed in the presence of 2 mM DTT, 5% v/v glycerol, 1 mM ascorbic acid and increasing concentrations of uridine (5, 10, 15, 20, 40, 100 mM). Samples without any additive were also analysed as negative controls. All the samples were measured in static mode (DTT: di­thio­threitol; Asc: ascorbic acid; Glyc: glycerol; U: uridine).
