Experimental and calculated PDD curves in (liquid) water for different beam sizes and in vacuo filtration. The former were collected with a PTW Type 31014 PinPoint chamber in hutch 2B with a 2 mm-high (broad) X-ray beam in dynamic radiotherapy mode (motor speed 20 mm s−1). The calculations were performed with spec.exe and involved step sizes of 25 µm and 0.1 keV (for 1 to 1000 keV). It has been assumed that Dmax corresponds to a 5 mm water depth.
