Absorption signal at the center for 100 mbar (a) and 300 mbar (b) and at 4.5 mm from the X-ray beam axis at the same pressures (c and d) as a function of the frequency shift, together with the best fit for each case. In all of the cases the undulator gap was 6 mm, the beam size 2 mm × 2 mm and the gas used argon (Ar 1s5 metastable state). The origin of the frequency was chosen as the start of the frequency scan.
