Schematic diagram of qXRR, as implemented here, illustrating the regions of reciprocal space probed by three particular pixels on the detector, the diffraction geometry, and its effect on the resolution. The probed regions for each of three pixels are shown in red, green and blue. Each region is bound by a set of two arcs with parallel sides corresponding to the range of incident and exit angles contributing to intensity on that pixel. The light orange features around the [{\bf{q}}_{z}] vector represent specular features. The wider, dark ellipses represent less intense diffuse features in reciprocal space.
