XEOL-XANES spectra from the corroded link (blue curve) with nantokite (green curve) and cuprite (red curve) references. The XEOL-XANES spectra show a strong similarity to the spertiniite XANES spectra published by Farges et al. (2007

). There is no sign of nantokite and the edge shift is consistent with a Cu (II) compound such as spertiniite.
