Schematic representation of the GISAXS geometry: a monochromatic X-ray beam hits the sample with an incident angle αi. The scattered radiation is recorded with a 2D area detector with respect to the α (out-of-plane) and ω (in-plane) exiting angles. The reciprocal-space units (q) represent the scattering wavevector, which depends on the X-ray energy (λ) and the exiting angles (α and ω).
