(a) Schematic of the X-ray chopper system. The disk assembly is mounted on a 10 inch CF flange with a linear translation mechanism used to align the chopper disk to the X-ray beam path. The chopper disk is driven by a motor housed inside a copper cooling block that can be connected to a water-cooling pipe via copper braids (not shown).
