Correction profile on M3 (left) and intensity distribution (right) at the focal position when the different deformations of M1 are corrected by the AXO in M3 using (a) ideal correction profile, (b) expansion of the ideal profiles as a function of the AXO orthonormal basis which defines a shorter mirror, and (c) expansion of the ideal profiles as a function of the AXO orthonormal basis and then making a linear extrapolation at the edges to the longer mirror length. Note that the intensity profiles have been shifted vertically for clarity.
