Spot pattern in the focal plane of the monochromator scheme proposed in Fig. 8 with the grating parameters reported in Fig. 6, in which an uncollimated beam is diffracted off-plane and successively focused by the use of an astigmatically focusing crossed mirror pair with different focal length in the orthogonal directions. The latter mirrors are rotated away from a horizontal orientation in the laboratory frame counterclockwise by 30.25° and by 30.25° + 90° for an observer following the beam trajectory. |
