Simplified schematic of fitting two edges of a NEXAFS spectra 1 (black, solid) corresponding to a material having two elemental components: edge 1 – A1(Δe1, t); and edge 2 – A2(Δe2, t). Two elemental spectra – 3 (red) and 4 (green) – corresponding to the elemental linear absorption coefficients μ1 and μ2, are used for fitting. The resulting fit is curve 2 (blue dashed). Fitting is applied for the photon energy intervals of the pre-edge Δe and post-edge Δe+ of the both edges (thick parts of curves). b is a fitting coefficient related to the material thickness.
