The sample stream diameter in the polyimide capillary region of the mixer, for a fixed geometry, is governed by Qsh/Qsa. The explored operational regime assumed a fixed initial sheath to sample concentration ratio csh,0/csa,0 of 5. Further, the sample and sheath species have diffusivities, respectively, of 0.425 and 1.05 × 10−9 m2 s−1.
