A reduction of the measurable amplitude when increasing the frequency of the sinusoidal signal, due to the fact that the period of the signal becomes comparable with the uncertainty in the X-ray photon arrival time, can be observed. The simulated amplitude is plotted by the red circles, while the change in amplitude predicted by equation (15)[link] is plotted by the black continuous line.
