Calculations were done for the part of the Fe60Al40 sample irradiated with a fluence of 0.75 × 1014 ions cm−2 (third row in Fig. 5[link]). The function [| E_{\sigma}^{\,2} (\theta,z) |^2] in panel (b) is normalized to the amplitude of the incident wave E0 = 1 and the colour gradient changes from 0 to 16. The vertical dashed lines in (b) mark the angles at which the NRR time spectra (Fig. 5[link], left-hand column) were measured.
