Experimental and theoretical values of mass attenuation coefficients of zinc. The percentage difference from the FFAST tabulated values of mass attenuation coefficients (Chantler, 1995BB7, 2000BB8) are plotted against energy. The dashed line indicates the energy of the absorption edge of zinc. Experimental results (Hopkins, 1959BB33; Unonius & Suortti, 1989BB55; Rae et al., 2010aBB42) are plotted with error bars. XCOM (Berger & Hubbell, 1987BB4) tabulated theoretical values and Henke et al. (1982BB32) interpreted values are also plotted, with no uncertainties reported. The discrepancy of experimental measurements exceeds the claimed accuracies. Few values are available near or above the edge. Rae et al. (2010aBB42) deviates from the tabulated FFAST and XCOM values by 2% at 12 keV.
