Standard deviation of all CirPAD pixels (averaged over 400 images) versus its mean intensity. The images were acquired with SLOW calibration and a counting time of 120 s, with an average of 6000 counts per pixel. Four groups of pixels are highlighted: (1) the largest number of pixels over the image; (2) the so-called double pixels; (3)/(4) pixels close to the guard ring. The Poisson distribution [ \sigma _{S_{i,j}} \simeq {S_{i,j}}^{1/2}] is shown as the red line and two black lines at the 20% limit that determines the acceptance levels.
