While the yellow intensity passing above the knife-edge is expected, the red part is coming from the wavefront error. The red profile illustrates a schematic intensity histogram on the detector in the vertical direction. The reference frame is defined as: y along the beam direction, x and z in the sagittal and tangential directions, respectively, on the optical element and horizontal and vertical on the slits, knife-edge and detector.
