(a) In the grating beam path the simulated spot size amounts to 28 µm (FWHM) in the horizontal and 13 µm in the vertical direction. (b) For the variable-delay beam path the focal spot size amounts to 12 µm (FWHM) horizontal and 13 µm (FWHM) vertical. The broader horizontal focus for the grating beam path indicates a residual pulse front tilt from the monochromator set-up.
