Some original and fitted (predicted) profiles from samples in the test data. In dashed blue the original profile. In dotted orange the standard model NS = 5000 (accuracy on test data 93%) using Gram-Schmidt bases. In dotted green the same model was trained with targets using non-orthogonal 1D Zernike bases (accuracy on test data 91%). Note that, although the difference in accuracy is only 2%, there are appreciable differences in the profiles. Each profile has been shifted vertically for clarity, and the corresponding horizontal shifted axis is displayed.
