Schematic of the liquid sample delivery setup. A droplet generator produces a train of single droplets falling under gravity into a vacuum chamber. At z = zkick, a femtosecond pulse laser induces transverse momentum (an optical kick) to direct a single droplet toward the time-resolved X-ray experiment point at z = zexp, y = yexp. The gray lines and droplets represent the trajectory toward the interaction region.
