Absorbance spectra of water under different pressure–temperature (PT) conditions. Starting from liquid water at room temperature and low pressure (violet line), compression of the sample leads to the formation of ice VI at room temperature and approximately 2 GPa (blue line). Upon heating and pressure increasing, liquid water is recovered in the temperature range 413–513 K.
