In situ XANES spectroscopy recorded at 30°C of the fresh sample for reference of Co3O4 and from 120°C to 400°C during the reduction process, showing the evolution of the cobalt oxidation state (Co3O4) to cobalt metal species over the temperature during the reduction process. The dashed lines are three different references for this experiment. The energy step in each XANES scan is 2 eV, and the total scan time per spectrum is 5 min.
