The mol­ecular structures of the two independent mol­ecules of (I)[link], showing the atom-labelling schemes for (a) a mol­ecule of type 1 and (b) a mol­ecule of type 2, where the major and minor orientations of the thienyl substituent have occupancies of 0.856 (2) and 0.144 (2), respectively. The disordered hy­droxy H atoms were modelled with an occupancy of 0.5, and displacement ellipsoids are drawn at the 30% probability level.
