Gd L3-edge total X-ray absorption and XMCD spectrum of a GdCo5 amorphous film measured at 300 K. The XMCD signal is multiplied by −20. A signal-to-noise ratio better than 400 was obtained after 100 min acquisition time. A signal-to-noise ratio larger that 100 can be obtained in a few minutes. Non-dispersivity conditions were optimized for the energy windows 1 to 4 (see Fig. 1[link]).
