Dependence of the reflectivity R for a symmetric Bragg reflection on energy (diamond 220 at 1 Å wavelength). The complex reflectivity is plotted versus the energy, where the energy for an exact Bragg reflection (without refraction) has been subtracted. Also given is the square modulus of the reflectivity, which is the well known Darwin–Prins curve. The subscript σ indicates linear polarization perpendicular to the plane of incidence. This differs from the figure of Shastri et al. (2001aBB4) (different sign of the real part) because of the different sign of the k vector (Shastri, 2002BB3).
