EXAFS spectra of the samples obtained in steps (1), (2) and (3) extracted from the R(E) shown in Fig. 4 making use of the Poumellec method (Poumellec et al., 1989BB48). The reference compounds (metallic Ni, NiO and NiAl2O4) recorded in transmission mode are also shown as evidence for the various phases of the transformation.
