Coherent X-ray resonant magnetic scattering pattern in the region of interest obtained from a 40 nm FePd film at the Fe L3 edge, in reflection geometry using circularly polarization. The central spot corresponds to the reflected beam, while the left and right satellites correspond to magnetic diffraction peaks due to the stripe periodicity. Left-hand image: enlarged view of the left satellite clearly showing the speckle pattern.
