Focus size measurements (a) taken with the film at the focus position. The focus position was determined with an accuracy of 1 mm. (b) Three-dimensional image of the focus in (a). There is a noticeable saturation in the image even for a low exposure time (1 s). Attenuators were not used to avoid focus spreading owing to the scattering in the attenuator foils. By taking the average values between the right-hand and left-hand and bottom and top we found a focus size of 25 (V) µm × 32 (H) µm.
