The pure slicing contribution (red) is determined by subtracting the halo (blue) from the original slicing + halo (green) data. The slicing fraction of the signal is β = 0.67. Note that the subtraction is performed with absolute and not relative data. (b) XMCD fits from (a) on a relative scale for better comparison. The blue dashed line represents the halo fit but shifted to the same time zero as for the slicing.
