Typical X-ray fluorescence spectrum collected for a biological sample with the contribution of Ca (Kα at 3.691 keV, Kβ at 4.012 keV), Fe (Kα at 6.404 keV, Kβ at 7.058 keV), Zn (Kα at 8.638 keV, Kβ at 9.572 keV). Special attention has been devoted to distinguish, by peak deconvolution, the respective contributions of Zn (Kβ = 9.572 keV) and Au (Lα = 9.713 keV) in the region of interest between 9 and 10 keV.
