Normalized Rh K-edge XANES spectra of: Rh2(AcO)4 solid (1) and its solution in ethane­thiol, [Rh2(AcO)4(EtSH)2] (7), reaction product of 1 with excess sodium ethane­thiol­ate (NaEtS) (9), and solution of RhIII–GSH reaction product (2) with three bridging thiol­ato groups between the Rh(III) ions (Enriquez Garcia & Jalilehvand, 2018BB21). The electronic environment around the Rh ions in 9 clearly differs from 7, but is rather similar to 2.
