Comparison of the first-order diffraction efficiency e calculated by use of the here-proposed equation (21)[link] (solid lines) and by use of the rigorous calculation code proposed by Nevière et al. (1974BB15) (dashed lines) depending on the photon energy for a grating with a gold coating, a groove density of 150 mm−1 and a blaze angle of γ = 0.22°. In the top figure the data are presented for the `fixed focus' operation with constants cff = 1.245 (red curves) and cff = 1.79 (blue curves), while in the bottom figure the black curves refer to the performance in blaze maximum mode and the green curves refer to the diffraction efficiency for a fixed deflection angle of ϕ + θ = 3°.
