Comparison of TcΔG6PDH (a) and human G6PG (HsG6PDH) (b) shows the entry of a side cavity in the parasite enzyme, close to the nicotinamide riboside, that is not present in the human enzyme. (c) Stereo diagram showing a section of the cavity observed in the Rossmann-like domain of TcΔG6PDH. Residues defining the surface of this cavity are mainly hydrophobic.
