Figure 7
(a) Experimental setup for wavelength-resolved neutron imaging on the RADEN beamline at J-PARC. The sample holder is moved to be irradiated by the neutron beam during measurements. Three PE sheets with different nominal thicknesses of 100, 35 and 230 m (left to right) are attached to the 6 mm thick SDSS sample using aluminium tape. Cadmium markers indicate the PE sheet positions. (b) Neutron transmission images of the SDSS sample with and without the PE sheets. Fifteen selected ROIs are arranged in a 5 column × 3 row grid. Five zones in the second row are labelled with numbers from 1 to 5. (c) Transmission spectra for the OA regions (top) and for the second-row ROIs (Zones 1 to 5) of the SDSS sample with and without PE sheets (middle and bottom). Primary hkl reflections for both the ferrite and austenite phases are labelled (austenite indices in italics).
