When diced crystal analysers are used the focus on the detector is a horizontal straight line (a) if the bandwidth of the incident radiation is much smaller than the cube energy acceptance or a square (b) in the opposite case (Huotari et al., 2005). The size of the square is twice the cube size. When bent crystal analysers are used, instead, the focus is point-like at large Bragg angles, but it becomes astigmatic when the Bragg angle is decreased (c). |
