Illustration of a general setup for simulation of CDI in McXtrace. The beam, focus, sample and detector are components in the graphical user interface, each consisting of a set of lines of code modifying parameters of the rays in the simulation. The dice illustrate components where a Monte Carlo process takes place. We refer to ψ as the wavefield immediately after the sample, and to Ψ as the wavefield on the detector.
