Concentrations of Al (dry-weight basis) in apical (0–10 mm) root tissues of soybean, buckwheat and Arabidopsis. Roots were exposed to Al for either 1 or 48 h. The solutions contained Al at different concentrations: 30 µM Al for soybean (Bunya) (causing 75% reduction in RRER over 48 h), 120 µM for buckwheat Heifeng-1 (25% reduction), 50 µM for buckwheat Xiqiao-2 (25% reduction) and 36 µM for Arabidopsis (Col-0) (60% reduction).
