Ray-tracing images on the detector for a point source in a five-crystal spectrometer with RP = 500 mm, r = 50 mm, α = 0° for (a) θ = 80°, (b)–(d) θ = 75°. The detector was placed (a)–(b) on the Rowland circle and offset by (c) 37.35 mm and (d) 74.7 mm outside the Rowland circle which gives the maximal sagittal focusing for the central crystal. The colours show the energy deviation (in electronvolts) from the central energy 6684.9 eV. The colour bar in (b) also applies to (c) and (d).
